Abilene Railroad Festival

This fall, the 3rd Annual Abilene Railroad Festival will be returning to the Texas & Pacific Railway cultural district corridor of North First street.

Our goal of this community wide event is to remind our city of its history with the railroad industry by providing unique involvement, subject specific presentations and incorporate introductory, family friendly interactive engagement that also values the perspective of railroad enthusiasts.

Friday, September 11th:
We’ll kickoff the festival with a Public Reception at D&W Underground Event Venue, with food catered by Circa 1880, and a cash bar provided by KAO lounge! Stephen R. Bush will present on the 1976 American Freedom Train which traveled through the Big Country during its country wide tour.

Saturday, September 12th:
Festival day will be filled with the main activities, interactive booths, small exhibits from local non-profits, historical presentations, model railroads, live entertainment and much more.

Participating Venues:
This years venues include but are not limited to Frontier Texas!, the T&P Depot, The Elks Arts Center, Cedar St. Coffee & Venue, NCCIL, and Connect Church - T&P Freight Depot.
