Welcome to the
1910 Swenson House

A magnificent setting

...for weddings, receptions, parties, teas, meetings and other gatherings. After two years of stabilization and restoration work, the Swenson House is now available for events. Scroll down for photos of the interior and information about rentals.

A little history: Built in 1910 by W.G. and Shirley Swenson, the home was built on 58 acres owned by the family. Today the grounds cover a two acre city block. In 1928 the Swensons completed a major remodeling of the home, adding brick veneer, a grape arbor and many Spanish Colonial Revival architectural features. The Swenson home is unique because so many of the original features have been preserved.

The Abilene Preservation League has owned and maintained the Swenson House since 1991.
