Bill Minter's Retirement Party

TUESDAY, AUGUST 16, 2016

WHERE: THE ELKS Building

On August 16, 2016, friends of Bill Minter gathered along with the Preservation League to wish Bill well. He has retired after ten years of service to the Abilene Preservation League.

Bill first started working for the APL in March of 2006. Several people, including Audrey Perry, Diana Keeble and Carrie Blaschke spoke about their memories with Bill Minter as the executive director. He was remembered fondly for his warm personality and deep knowledge of preservation.

Bill Minter oversaw many successful projects during his tenure as Executive Director including acquiring the Swenson House, making sure that piece of Abilene History is preserved, and saving the Rosetyme Property. He spent countless hours speaking at different events around town, promoting preservation and educating people.

The Abilene Preservation League is grateful for Bill’s many years of service.

The Sayles Ranch Guesthouses of Terry and Laura Browder have played a significant role in the renewal and their investment has improved the area. The guest houses also provide a convenient alternative to chain hotels located on the entrances to the city.  In addition, we’ll present the 12 Beautiful House award winners for this 2016 and commercial preservation awards.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward preservation efforts in Abilene.

Reservations for the lunch are $50 per person. Sponsorships begin at $250 and table sponsorships are available for $1,000 and up.
